Where there is light, there is hope.
Preston was a born performer. From his earliest years, he had the capacity to captivate an audience, whether it was through dance or theater. It was obvious to anyone who witnessed his performances that he was headed toward a life on the stage. He had a natural charisma and a magnetic charm that captivated audiences young and old.
After his craniotomy, one of his first realizations was the impact his diagnosis would have on his ability to dance and perform. Through most of his treatment, his medical team kept this in mind, and while it was difficult, he managed to maintain his dance and theater schedule for most of his first year. In fact, just one month post-op, he took the stage as the Minstrel in his high school’s rendition of the musical, Something Rotten.
His love of performing was consistent and, we are confident, would have carried through his life if not for his diagnosis. We at the PrestoStrong Project are determined to carry on his legacy by fulfilling the dreams of other performers through the establishment of a robust scholarship program that not only gives financial aid to those seeking a life in the performing arts, but also to artists who’ve been navigating that path only to find limited access to continued financial resources.
